Valentines With My Babes

Hope you ladies had a great Valentines Day yesterday. A few years ago the hubby and I vowed that we would celebrate our Vday either the day before or after Valentines Day. Its always such a pain trying to get a reservation (even when booking a month in advance) and most restaurants  have a pre set menu where you spend way more for food that you normally wouldn't order. This year we didn't have that option as our little love is usually in bed by the time my husband gets home so we celebrated quietly at home.

I put together this little "love bucket" with some of the hubs favorite treats and YES that is a Buffalo Wild Wings gift card. He always begging to go there and I rarely say yes (As you can imagine not a ton of healthy options ;) so this was a major treat for him. My man loves his wangs! PS have you ladies tried the Five Star Peanut Butter candy bar from Whole Foods?! Amazing!

Of course Ava is probably not going to remember this Valentines Day but it's fun to start getting into each holiday with her! I snagged a couple cute little gifts from Target and loved watching her little face light up when we gave them to her.  I can't wait for a few years when she really knows whats going on!

Of course I had to make some heart shaped pancakes for her as well lol
Someone also received her first Valentines Day card from her memaw! So sweet!

This year with the hubby working late and having the baby I decided to put together a quiet romantic little dinner at home. I say quiet because I had already bathed and put the baby down ;)  The hubby was BEYOND excited to see that I had picked up dinner from one of our favorite italian spots, Pizzeria Ortica.
I ordered the Farro salad with argula, calamari, shrimp and mussels. I also had the grilled octopus with capers and potatoes..so good! If you're in OC you definitely have to check out this chill little spot (Pizzeria Ortica) the food is so good!  I really miss date nights since having Ava but this was just what we needed. It actually kind of felt like a REAL date night because we never eat in our actual dining room lol. Hope you ladies had a great Valentines day as well!

  10. Omg the wangs!!! Too funny - love this! We celebrated on the 13th and agreed it was SO much better! Of course, we never used to have 5:30 dinner resos before ;) but I like to be the one giving Sophia her bath! The food looks and sounds delish - love Pizzeria Ortica but I've only ordered the pizzas!

I know a lot of people hate Valentine's Day but I really love it because it makes you stop and think about the people you love:)
